Department Overview
The Family Health Department is one of the departments under the School of Public Health, Menelik II Medical and Health Science College. The department was established in 2010 G.C. with the aim of providing quality health education and training for Urban Health Extension Workers at the diploma level. Since 2016 G.C., it has also been offering a Post-Basic Family Health program at the bachelor’s degree level.

The department is dedicated to preparing competent, ethical, and evidence-based Family Health Professionals.

- Deliver high-quality, competency-based education in family and public health.

- Design, implement, and regularly review family health–related curricula.

- Conduct operational and implementation research in family health.
