School Overview
The School of Nursing and Midwifery was established by encompassing eight undergraduate programs and one postgraduate program. The undergraduate programs include Comprehensive Nursing, Pediatrics Nursing, Neonatal Nursing, Surgical Nursing, Emergency and Critical Care Nursing, Operation Theatre Nursing, Psychiatry Nursing and Midwifery in bachelor program. Additionally, the school offers a postgraduate program in Integrated Clinical Care and Mental Health.

Core Functions
- Deliver high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate programs aligned with national and international health education standards.
- Follow departments on Designing, implementing, and evaluating curricula that meet current health-care needs and future workforce demands.
- Encourage students and staff to engage in research projects that contribute to the body of knowledge in the field.
- Encourage involvement of students in community service projects to foster a sense of responsibility and advocacy in healthcare.
- Playing a bridge role between departments and chief academic director, program directors, program coordinators.
- Foster collaboration between Nursing and Midwifery school students and other healthcare disciplines to promote a holistic approach to patient care.
- Conducting academic commission periodically.
- Participation in College Senate meeting and other standing and Adhoc committees.
- Continuously assessing the quality of education based on feedback from students, staff, clinical partners and stakeholders.
- Following provision of academic advising, counseling, and mentorship to support students' success throughout their education.
- Strengthening collaboration with hospitals, research institutions and health bureaus to enhance practical training and professional development.
- Overseeing the course offering periodically to meet the standard of professional practice.
- Conduct continuous contact with departments physically, by formal letter, on telephone, and via Telegram channels.

Main Tasks
- Coordinating and delivering teaching-learning activities across the eight departments in undergraduate programme and one postgraduate program.
- Coordinating clinical and skill practice sessions in collaboration with affiliated hospitals and health centers.
- Supporting community-based health campaigns, screenings, and awareness programs in partnership with the Addis Ababa Health Bureau.
- Conduct need assessment to launch new need-based academic programs.
- Coordinating engagement in research activities contributes to the advancement of professional practices.
- Promote research and community-based services that address local and national health challenges.
- Facilitate clinical placements in hospitals, clinics, and community settings.
- Utilize simulation labs equipped with sufficient materials to allow students to practice skills in a controlled environment.
- Coordinate provision of medical materials, computers and dolls that simulate various medical conditions for clinical practice.
