Directorate Overview

The Undergraduate Program Directorate is a central academic unit responsible for coordinating, developing, and assuring the quality of undergraduate programs across the College. It ensures that curricula, teaching-learning processes, and academic administration are aligned with institutional goals, national priorities, and College Senate legislation. The Directorate promotes student-centered, research-informed, and outcome-based education.

The College offers a total of 23 undergraduate programs across its three schools. The School of Nursing and Midwifery includes eight departments and delivers 12 programs, with a blend of generic and post-basic training. The School of Allied Health Sciences comprises seven departments and offers ten undergraduate programs, mostly combining regular and post-basic pathways. The School of Public Health provides one post-basic undergraduate program.

Functions and Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements policies, guidelines, and frameworks for undergraduate curricula.
  • Plans, coordinates, and monitors program development in line with national needs and institutional capacity.
  • Reviews and improves academic regulations, curricula, and program structures.
  • Ensures curriculum delivery is research-based, up-to-date, and supported by effective teaching and assessment methods.
  • Monitors teaching-learning processes to ensure they are student-centered and aligned with academic standards.
  • Coordinates academic schedules, instructor assignments, and program implementation.
  • Ensures compliance with College Senate legislation and academic regulations.
  • Facilitates collaboration among departments and schools for common and general education courses.
  • Supports students’ success by addressing academic challenges and reducing dropout rates.
  • Provides academic information, resolves student-related issues, and ensures transparency in program requirements.
  • Oversee the approval, implementation, and continuous evaluation of undergraduate programs.

  • Monitoring and evaluation of program delivery and academic performance.
  • Data collection and analysis on enrollment, capacity, and student outcomes.
  • Preparation and dissemination of academic policies, manuals, and guidelines.
  • Coordination of general education and common course delivery across departments.
  • Supervision of teaching-learning and research activities in line with institutional standards.
  • Resource coordination, including support for laboratory and research needs.
  • Facilitation of admissions, including private and sponsored student programs.
  • Management of academic schedules and ensuring timely course delivery.
  • Preparation of graduate lists and academic outputs for institutional publication.
  • Continuous improvement initiatives to enhance program quality and relevance.
