Directorate Overview

The Gender and HIV/AIDS Directorate works to ensure gender equality, empower female students and staff, and integrate gender perspectives into academic and administrative areas. It plays an essential role in creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all members of the college community. The Directorate mainstreams gender into programs, ensuring that women and men have equal opportunities in employment and leadership.

Additionally, the office is established to promote awareness, prevention, and support services related to HIV/AIDS among students and staff. It functions as a hub for training, awareness creation, and prevention support, aiming to create a safe, equitable, and healthy learning environment for the entire college community.

Gender Equality & Mainstreaming

Integrates gender perspectives into programs and ensures equal opportunities in employment and leadership to advance gender balance.

Awareness & Training

Organizes and provides training on gender sensitivity, equity, and the prevention of gender-based violence for students and staff.

Student Support Services

Provides psychological, material, and financial support to students to ensure their well-being and academic success.

Harassment Prevention

Handles cases of harassment and creates a safe environment free from discrimination and gender-based violence.

Capacity Building

Encourages and supports female academic staff to participate in research, leadership roles, and professional development.

HIV/AIDS Awareness

Conducts training and awareness programs related to HIV/AIDS prevention and the reduction of stigma among students and staff.

VTC & Health Counseling

Encourages voluntary testing and counseling (VTC) and raises awareness about early screening to prevent health problems.

AIDS Fund & Child Support

Organizes the AIDS fund and provides critical support for children affected by HIV/AIDS within the community.

Safe Practice Resources

Distributes awareness creation materials on safe practices and manages the distribution of prevention resources.

Commemorative Events

Organizes International Women's Day and World AIDS Day events to celebrate achievements and raise institutional awareness.
